By January 1, 2014 the full scale of the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) will have changed the nation. For large employers with 50 or more full-time employees, the federal government has mandated their financial requirement to provide health insurance.
Employers will need to comply with the Shared Responsibility provisions, “Play or Pay” standards, found within PPACA.
Additionally, everyone in the country will need to be enrolled in a health insurance plan, meeting minimum essential benefits. Failure to do so will result in individual tax penalties, employer tax penalties or both.
Employers of all sizes will need to comply with new informational and compliance requirements. Starting with the definition & calculation of a large employer, our presenters will address the regulations and the need for 2013 planning.
